This F.I.T., graduate, got a bachelor’s degree in architecture before deciding to study her hobby since she was a kid: fashion design. After interning at renowned Irish designer Daryl K’s studio in SoHo, returned to Puerto Rico eight years ago, and since then established her line of swimwear, inspired in the beautiful beaches of her sunny island: Puerto Rico.

Tommie has been the designer of the official swimsuits of many beauty pageants, including Miss Puerto Rico Universe, and for the past four years, Miss World Puerto Rico. Many local celebrities have worn her designs, and her bikinis are favorites of ex-Miss Teen USA Vanessa Minnillo and top model Caridee English.

She was chosen from dozens of applicants to join the Puerto Rico High Fashion, Puerto Rico’s most important fashion event, and has participated with them for the past three seasons. Recently, Tommie presented a collection in Panama, during their fashion week, sharing the runway with more than a dozen of Latin America’s best designers.

Her work has been shown in local and international newspapers and magazines, among them:
California Apparel News, Waterwear Magazine and The Swim Journal.

Her Boutique-Atelier is located in her hometown of Mayagüez, where she sells her line Tommie B., and custom makes swimsuits, cover-ups and dresses for her exclusive clientele.
